Gallbladder Carcinoma (GBC) Markers

 

 

 

This is the second most common type of cancer to involve the region of the liver, following cancer of the hepatocytes (hepatocellular carcinoma).

 

 

 

CA 125

• has a diagnostic potential for gallbladder carcinoma (GBC) and can differentiate GBC from gallstone disease (GSD) in light of other clinical details. PMID: 16724349

Ep-CAM

• an independent marker for poor survival in gallbladder carcinoma. PMID: 15131054

RCAS1

• High expression of RCAS1 significantly correlated with tumour progression and predicted poor outcome in gallbladder cancer. PMID: 11747335
